REAL LIFE STORY
Giovanni was invited to a church, to a special service called “tables of friends”, at the end of the event some tables were celebrating the conversion of some guests and among them was Giovanni. On the way home he asked Ricardo, who had invited him, the following question, what happened tonight in my life?
It is not only Giovanni’s question but that of many people like you, after being invited to believe in Jesus. In order to help you, you are invited to carry out the following analysis.
It is very likely that your life is very similar to that of Zacchaeus, who was not in the best conditions, and that is why you decided to take the great step of conversion, receiving Jesus by faith. Now we will see with the help of the Bible what happened the day you gave your life to Christ.
WHAT DOES THE SCRIPTURE SAY?
That a little man climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who was going to pass near his house, Zacchaeus had heard about who He was and what the Lord was doing, so he went to try to know Him. However, Jesus already knew who Zacchaeus was, He called him by his name and told him that He wanted to visit his house, when he heard that he got off, took him to his house and immediately organized a delicious dinner. Then holiness and sin sat at the same table, talked, enjoyed, and ate, but the moment came to make the decision before the visit and the interest of Jesus; – Do you regret all the bad things you have thought and done? Do you want your life to change? Do you want to have salvation?
Feeling that and having the experience of inviting Jesus into his heart, Zacchaeus repented of all his sins, decided to change, be a follower of Jesus and become a Christian.
According to Luke 19:1-10, who was Zacchaeus?
What were the sins of Zacchaeus?
How did Zacchaeus show his repentance?
How do you explain the conversion of Zacchaeus?
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
– Luke 19:10
WHAT IS CONVERSION?
It is a new birth or salvation process; for the Church of the Nazarene, it is that gracious work of God whereby the moral nature of the repentant believer is spiritually quickened and given a distinctively spiritual life, capable of faith, love, and obedience. (Article of Faith 9: Manual of the Church of the Nazarene p. 25).
To get converted is to reconcile with God and turn away from evil to establish a relationship with Christ, and it supposes and includes repentance of all sins, and once in grace we propose to change everything that does not please God.
You have to know Jesus Christ in order to love Him more and follow Him. – Ignacio Loyola
